WHy i'm obsessed with coconut oil...

By far, this is the MOST versatile tool in a gals Bathroom Cabinet! 💁 Hence, I'm obsessed.
Before we get started, lets cover some basics!

  • 'Fractionated' means the coconut oil is in a liquid form, so its much more convenient & way easier to use.
  • You may have heard me talk about mixing essential oils with a 'carrier oil', especially if you're using essential oils on sensitive skin.  A carrier oil is the fat component of a plant (for example, almond oil, olive oil, coconut oil, rapeseed oil, sunflower oil, etc). Personally out of all the carrier oils, coconut oil is my fave.  It absorbs really quickly into the skin, its super hydrating & if you use a high quality fractionated coconut oil (or the Cocounut oil by doTERRA), it will be naturally unscented.
  • I love diluting essential oils when I'm using them on my skin as it helps spread them so much easier & helps them to emulsify.  It also helps the aroma last so much longer.

Fractionated Coconut oil is one of my monthly staples in my monthly doTERRA online order 🛍💻 it doubles & triples up in so many way. Here are my top uses!

🌟 Eye Makeup Remover 🌟
Simple. Damp cotton pad + a few drops massaged over the eye area. Extremely gentle and effective. If you are trying to remove false eyelashes, apply 1 drop of doTERRA Lemon Essential oil to the same cotton pad. Hold over the eye area for around 20 seconds and the falsies will glide away. Painless & won't pull your own lashes. Be careful not to let the lemon essential oil to get inside your eye.

🌟 Cleanser 🌟
As above... damp cotton pad and a few drops of coconut oil. Easy!

🌟 Body Lotion 🌟
Coconut oil is incredibly hydrating, yet doesn't leave a greasy consistency on your skin. Simply mix it with your favourite essential oil for added aroma & enhanced benefit. It also leaves a gorgeous dewey look to your skin.  At the moment I'm obsessed with Sandalwood
& Wild Orange in my Coconut Oil lotion.  So unbelievably sexy & delicious.

🌟 Hair Serum 🌟
Incredibly moisturising for your hair and even as a great overnight treatment. Avoid the roots, and start with a little bit in the ends. Gradually add to it as you need it. Be careful not to overdo it though!

🌟 Cuticle Oil 🌟
No explanation needed!

🌟 Lip Gloss 🌟
Super hydrating and gives a gorgeous shine.  If you want a tingly sensation to give you a bit of a pout, add a drop of Peppermint essential oil!

🌟 Body Scrub 🌟
Mix coconut oil with sugar and your favourite essential oils for a FAB body scrub. So natural, hydrating, cheap and effective!

🌟 Shaving your legs 🌟
Simply smother your legs with coconut oil, warm water and start shaving. Simple.

🌟 Cellulite cream 🌟
Mix coconut oil with some doTERRA grapefruit essential oil and rub over cellulite affected areas .

🌟 Roller-Balls 🌟
You can whip up your own Roller Ball by adding around 10 drops of your favourite essential oil to a roller ball and dilute the rest with fractionated coconut oil.  Making Roller-Balls literally costs as little as penneys, and you have a quick and easy way to use your oils on the go.

🌟 Massage 🌟
Whether its DIY, or for someone you love (or somone you love returning the favour!) Massage is the nicest treat when you're not feeling 100% or if you just want to spoil your loved ones.  Use your coconut oil as part of a lovely massage.  Go with your instinct and just pick an essential oil that you're in the mood for.  I'm a big fan of the womens blend Whisper <3

The best advice I can give you when it comes to using your Coconut Oil is that there are no rules, its the most versatile tool a gal can have, so makes sure you always have a bottle on standby. If there's a way you use your Cocounut Oil that you'd like to share, make sure you pop it into the Comments section.  Remember, sharing is caring
